The Lot Ledger gives every lot its own row — its area from the recorded plat, where it stands, and how much dirt is left to move on it.
◆ The problem
Nobody runs a site. They run lots.
Every mapping platform answers questions about a site: how much earth moved, is the surface at grade, what does it look like from above. All useful. None of it answers the question asked on the Monday call — is lot 47 ready to hand to a builder?
A site total split evenly across 180 lots is not an answer. It is an average pretending to be one.
◆ How it works
One upload, then every lot has a row
Upload the recorded plat
Export it from Civil 3D, QGIS or ArcGIS as KML. DroneFlow reads every closed lot boundary, takes the lot numbers off the drawing, and skips the streets, easements and title-block linework — then tells you how many shapes it left out, so you can check the count against what you expected.
Area from the boundary
Each lot's area is computed from its own boundary and reported in both square feet and square metres — the plat records feet, the survey works in metres, and converting 180 rows by hand is how a transcription error ends up in a draw request.
Status you control
Cleared, rough graded, final graded, building, complete. Set it straight from the table — it saves as you change it, and the ledger remembers when it changed. DroneFlow does not guess a lot's status from the surface: an inference in that column would be read as a fact.
Earthwork per lot
Once you have flown the subdivision twice, pick the two flights and measure. Every lot reports its own cut, fill and net in cubic yards — measured on its own ground, not apportioned from a site total.
◆ The part that matters in month six
Re-uploading a revised plat does not erase your work
Plats get revised. Phases get added. Sometimes you re-export because the first file had the wrong column. The second upload is the normal case, not the exception — so lots are matched by number:

The boundary refreshes. The status you recorded stays exactly where it was — including six months of it.
New in the file
Added to the ledger, ready to have a status set.
Gone from the file
Flagged by name and kept, never deleted. A lot merged into its neighbour and a lot missing because you grabbed the wrong file look identical from our side. Only you can tell them apart.
◆ Numbers you can defend
Every volume shows its own working
A cubic-yard figure you cannot interrogate is a figure you cannot put in front of a client. So the ledger states what it did:
The resolution it measured at
Around half-metre ground sampling — hundreds of samples inside a typical building lot. Stated on the page so you can judge it rather than assume it.
The noise it ignored
Movement under 5 cm counts as measured area but contributes no volume. Without that band, ordinary survey noise across forty acres becomes thousands of yards of dirt that never moved.
Whether the flights share a datum
If the two captures are on different vertical references, the change is still meaningful — a constant offset cancels in a difference — but the absolute heights are not, and the page says so instead of letting you assume.
Lots it could not measure
A lot the two flights did not both cover reports nothing at all, with the reason. Never a smaller number. A quarter-covered lot showing a quarter of the dirt looks exactly like an answer — and somebody bills against it.
◆ Before you start
What you need — and what will not work yet
Export the plat as KML or GeoJSON
Both are already in latitude and longitude, so nothing has to be converted and the import happens immediately. It is two clicks in any CAD or GIS package.
A DXF or SHP is refused — on purpose
What a surveyor usually hands you carries State Plane coordinates: eastings and northings in the hundreds of thousands. Those numbers are not longitudes, and drawing them unconverted would put your subdivision in the Gulf of Guinea. DroneFlow refuses the file and tells you what to export instead, rather than silently mishandling it.
Earthwork per lot needs two finished flights of the same subdivision — cut and fill are a difference, so one capture measures nothing. Lot areas and statuses work from the first upload.
