3D models and point clouds

The textured mesh you orbit in the browser, and the dense point cloud behind it.

DroneFlow builds two related 3D products: a textured 3D model (mesh) and the point cloud it's derived from.

A real textured mesh, not an illustration — the house frame, kerb line, pond and canopy all come from the photos. This is what streams into the browser viewer.

The 3D model

The model is a photo-textured mesh you can orbit in the browser — no plugin, no download required. It streams in progressively so it stays responsive, and it's ideal for inspecting structures and showing a site to a client.

The point cloud

The point cloud is millions of individually positioned points — the raw geometric measurement behind the mesh. Download it as LAS for use in survey and engineering software, where you can classify, section, and measure it directly.

What makes 3D good

3D quality lives and dies on oblique coverage. If a model looks thin on building sides, the capture needed more angled photos of those faces.
