Working in the App

Measuring distances, areas, and elevations

The core measurement tools, and how to read what they give you.

Because the map is georeferenced, you can measure on it directly — no export, no CAD round-trip.

Distance

Pick the Distance tool and click along a path. DroneFlow returns the total length; click a vertex to adjust it, or remove it to redraw.

Area

Draw a closed polygon to get its area — useful for coverage, lot sizing, and material estimates.

Elevation and profile

Map and chart share the same horizontal axis, so a feature on the ground sits directly above its bump in the profile.

The Elevation tool reads the height at any point from the terrain model. The Profile tool draws a line and returns the elevation along it — a cross-section of the ground for drainage and grading.

Elevations are only as meaningful as the vertical datum behind them — see coordinate systems and datums if the numbers look shifted.
