Volumes and cut/fill analysis

Measure material volume, and compare the ground against a design surface for earthwork.

Volume and cut/fill both answer 'how much material?' — one against the surrounding ground, the other against a plan.

A terrain surface coloured by cut and fill against a flat design grade, with the material-to-remove side in cyan and the material-to-add side in amber
Cut and fill against a 19.20 m design grade: max cut 8.10 m, max fill 8.45 m. Vertical exaggeration 2.2× so the grade reads. Computed on the bare-earth DEM — a DSM would count the tree canopy as material to be moved.

Volume

Draw a boundary around a pile or excavation and DroneFlow computes the volume of the surface (DSM) above — or below — a base. The base can be the surrounding ground it fits to automatically, or a flat plane at an elevation you set.

Cut and fill

Load a design surface and DroneFlow compares the captured ground against it, reporting how much material must be cut (removed) and filled (added) to reach design grade — the core earthwork number for a site.

Reading the result

Results come with the boundary you drew, so they're reproducible and auditable. Move the boundary and the number updates.

For stockpiles you re-measure over time, use the stockpile tool — it keeps the boundary consistent flight to flight.
