Processing failed with a red error
What the common failure reasons mean, and which ones a reprocess can fix without re-uploading.
What's happening
The project shows a red Error badge and stops. Most failures trace back to the export rather than to processing: an export missing its 2D task, a truncated or unreadable zip, a point cloud in a format that carries no coordinate information, or no determinable coordinate system. A smaller number are ours.

What to check
- Read the reason on the project page — it states which stage stopped and why.
- Open the processing log for the full detail.
- Ask the Mapping Expert from the failed project. It reads the actual record including the quality report, rather than guessing from the badge.
How to fix it
- Coordinate-system failures are fixable in place: open the project, choose Reprocess & fix, supply the EPSG code, and start reprocessing. No re-upload.
- Export problems are not. Reprocessing cannot add data that was never uploaded — re-export from your mapping software and create a new project.
- If the reason points at something on our side, tell us and we will look at the run.
Avoiding it next time
Check the deliverables panel on the New project page before you spend the bandwidth: it reads your zip and shows which products it can build. Export the 2D map task alongside the 3D one, export point clouds as LAS rather than PLY, and zip the whole export folder unmodified.
If the stated reason is unclear or points at DroneFlow, contact us with the project name.
